With the alchemy of photograpy I can catch those memories in print that would normally be gone in a flash

Project ended early

A couple of people I photographed earlier in the year have asked me how the project is going. Sadly it fizzled out due to lack of interest, I had articles in the Broadsheet and notices scattered around the village but much to my disappointment the response was nil so in spite of all the work I put into this early in the year it came to nothing.

However, if there is interest I could always start it again for 2010 as this is a much rounder figure – and would look better on the front of the book :-)

Burwash Common Pavilion – Opening

Sunday 15th March, 2009  (Part 2)

This afternoon I was asked to take some pictures of the opening of the new Pavilion at Burwash Common – the main pictures can be seen in a gallery here .  I also displayed some of my images from the Pancake Party a few weeks ago and if anyone would like to see them again please let me know.

Once again I do not seem to be able to get past dogs when I am out with my camera so I am just going to add one today as the Pavilion pictures are already available.

Horse Trials, The Glebe, Burwash

Sunday 15th March, 2009  (Part 1)

This morning I visited The Glebe Horse Trials and Scurry to watch the horses and get a few pictures for my Burwash Project, although unfortunately I had to leave before the Scurry.  I loved the shape of this horse as it went over the jump – so elegant.  If you look carefully at the second picture you may notice the grey’s shoe flying though the air as it went over the jump and left it behind

Photographs of Burwash Village …..

… from Fontridge Lane
Monday 2nd March 2009

Today was one of those fabulous winter days, quite sunny, relatively warm, not too hazy and with some interesting cloud formations.  Just right to try and get some pictures of the village from the far side of the valley.  I spent about an hour waiting for the clouds to stop covering the enough of the area so I could get my shots and was pleased with the results.  These are a bit small to show it up properly but are the largest that will fit in this section of my website.

Burwash Parish Walk

Monday 16th February – Footpath Walk

Every third Monday in the month a group of hardy walkers meet up to walk the footpaths around the Village.  We covered around five miles – most of which seemed to be going up hills  – there must have been some downward bits but they seemed few and far between but the views and scenery more than made up for it.  I did not take many pictures today but instead of showing the dozen of us who were taking part I will show my favourite shot of the day.  This was one of four ponies who suddenly took off across a field – and the only one not rugged up.

Sinbad – Pantomime

13th February – Burwash Amateur Pantomime Society

Tonight was one of the performances of the  Burwash Pantomime – Sinbad.  The cast and support put in a tremendous amount of work into their annual productions and it certainly pays off, the resulting performances are full of enthusiasm and fun – for both cast and audience.  If any of the cast would like to see the rest of the photographs please feel free to contact me.

Introduction to my Burwash Pictorial History – 2009 Project

I have set myself a project during 2009 to create a pictorial village diary for Burwash. This will include photographs of as many of the clubs, groups and businesses as possible together with landscapes, people, new babies, events with an exhibition and book at the end of it, anything and everything to do with the parish. This has led to me meeting many new people around the area and I just did not realise how much went on around here – I will say the ladies in the area make some fabulous cakes though.

This was one of the lovely flower arrangements from the competition after the AGM at the Flower Group with teams  who each had about 5 minutes to create an arrangement.
